Off to the deli (and Mr. Yi) is not the same as off to the races
except for perhaps another day of God's mercies and how I
participate in that with my King.
You meet great people at the deli. I watch so many bless Ray
and Missy who sit out front with his buggy filled with blankets,
dog food and toys.
Most of our regulars are fun to see and kibbutz (?) with. My
co-workers are introducing me to Korean food after our rush
is over.
Yet, each day I see other sides of faces . . . of stress and strain,
of pain and loneliness. So as I read Oswald Sanders this morning
I wanted to share some of it:
One of the greatest hindrances in coming to Jesus (and His
rest) is the excuse of our own individual temperament.
There is only one thing you can dedicate to God, and that
is your right to yourself (see Romans 12:1) If you will give
God your right to yourself, He will make a holy experiment
out of you--and His experiments always succeed.
Never try to make your experience a principle for others,
but allow God to be as creative and original with others as
He is with you.
Jesus, here I am . . . surrendered anew . . . off to the deli.
