What about TODAY? (facebook series)
Questions followed Easter. An angel at the tomb of Jesus questioned the women, "Why do you look for the living among the dead?" The women were thinking about their yesterdays-oh, what could have been. The disciples asked Jesus before he left, "When will you restore the Kingdom to us?" The word, 'when', tips off an unhealthy fascination about tomorrow or at least, 'we want back what we lost!' Any time we are preoccupied with either yesterday or tomorrow we can miss what God wants to reveal to us TODAY. Last night I read on people's facebooks, "not myself anymore"; "blah"; "bad attitude today".."trying hard to believe". This is just a small sample. Know that the presence of God is at arm's length-- only a prayer away. My prayer for you today is, "Storm through souls, God: wake the sleeping, strengthen the weak, raise the dead parts in them and open ears and hearts to hear and feel you as never before." Amen! he still raises the dead!!

The hope of the Eleven (facebook series)
What did the eleven say to each other?', those two days after the crucifixion? Did they forget their friend's last promise,"I'm coming back...It's gonna be OK." My imagination tells me there were alot of 'what ifs' and, 'what could have beens' that were spoken. At least shared memories of water being turned to wine, crowds being fed, storms being stilled...yes, those eleven saw and heard so much, so very much. Today I join the eleven in hope of resurrection, tomorrow... but resurrection can happen tonight! Resurrection happens any time we come to Jesus-we may come brashly like Peter, doubting like Thomas or reverently like Mary. Or like the prodigal, when we decide to come home, the father will run to meet us and, will interrupt our well planned speech-- the party will be on. Jesus said, "I am praying on their behalf so that my father may be glorified." I pray on your behalf tonight too, that the father would be glorified in all you say and do and become. He is risen!!!

A little more? (facebook series)
It's been a long time since writing so, this will be a ramble...just back from Ohio with Kristen doing a conference and preaching. I am so struck with how lonely people are with people, unsatisfied and untapped as far as being used by the Lord. It seems to me-- maybe I'm wrong, but shouldn't Christians be some of the most secure people? Should not Christians, with the unlimited power of God in their hearts and lives be some of the most fulfilled people in the world? I prayed with so many people just wanting "a little more"...as I thought about this, should we all not be wanting, "a little more"? So, here is my question for you, that thing that you want a little more of, is God the dispenser of it or is it coming form another source? Told you this would be a ramble... off for a walk then to the gym with my roomie.....
