One more Valentine (facebook series)
After reading my Valentine's posting someone sent this to me, thought you might enjoy it as I did: One Valentine lived in bible times, when it was against the law for Roman soldiers to marry(leaders thought it would take away their focus). Valentine secretly married soldiers and was jailed because of it. During imprisonment, he prayed for the healing of a guard's daughter-she was healed and both the guard and the daughter became Christians. Just before he was beheaded, Valentine wrote a letter of encouragement to the guard's daughter to assure her of God's never ending love and belief in life after death. He signed his letter, "Your Valentine"...this starting the tradition of remembering those we love with letters. So...go write a letter TODAY!

Three Valentines (facebook series)
Taking a one day break from Jonah BECAUSE...it's Valentine's Day!! Did you know there was more than one Valentine recorded in history? There were at least three! The "three Valentines" all share something in common-each was put to death because they would not renounce their "love" (faith) for God. Therefore, a Valentine lives to love others and is willing to die for the one they love. Does the one you love have such a place in your life? Would you do anything (including die) for that person? Scripture tells us love is patient, kind, is not boastful and does not keep a record of wrongs (this is a partial list of what love is and what love is not). In recent months I have been on a journey that has taken me to a deeper, more sacrificial understanding of love. God's love is costly. Jesus' historical death is a present day challenge to anyone who says they love God. Words are cheap. If you want a valentine, BE a valentine-show love in a concrete ways and your life will be richer!
