Alone, withered and forgotten (facebook series)
Alone, withered and forgotten--ever feel like that? Religious people stare at you through glass eyes and words from the printed page of the bible drop silently to the floor. I can relate all too well to these perceptions yet--God saw the man in all his aloneness. God noticed how he hide the withered part of his life. God hears and sees everything, nothing gets past God. To the withered parts of our lives Jesus invites you and me, "Come...stand...hold out.." Those three invitations given to the man are given to everyone who feels like this man. This morning I heard a song by Josh Groban, "You are loved, don't give up" (go to projectplaylist, type it in). If your life is anything like the alienated man, this song will scrape you from the inside out. Let music be a part of your healing. As evening now barges into my life, without invitation, I need to remember that I too am invited again by God tonight,"Come, stand, hold out. God still whispers this invitation..don't give up, don't.
